Call for Nominations for the 2017 NJLA CUS/ACRL-NJ Research Award

To recognize excellence in the research efforts of New Jersey librarians, the Research Committee of the NJLA College and University Section (CUS) and the ACRL New Jersey Chapter seeks nominations for its annual Research Award to honor the best published research completed by a New Jersey librarian during the past year.

All types of research published in 2016 will be considered, including books, journal articles, bibliographies, and electronic publications. A New Jersey librarian practicing or professionally active in the New Jersey library community must be the author or co-author.  Doctoral dissertations and master’s theses are not eligible; however, publications based on them will be considered.  Individuals may nominate themselves or a colleague. Please submit to the chair:

·        A letter of nomination that specifies the evidence for and the significance of the original research
·        A copy of the publication in either electronic or hard copy format
·        An abstract, if not included in the publication
·        Contact information for the author/s.

Call for Submissions for the 2017 NJLA CUS/ACRL-NJ Research Forum

To promote research by New Jersey librarians, the Research Committee of the NJLA College and University Section and the ACRL New Jersey Chapter seeks presenters for its Research Forum.

New Jersey librarians who are involved in, or have participated in, any type of research project are invited to give a brief presentation of their 2016 project during the Forum. Please submit to the chair your application including:

·        Title of research
·        An abstract of 200-300 words that specifies the significance of the research
·        Contact information for the researcher/s.

Award and Forum will be presented at the 2017 NJLA Annual Conference in April at Harrah’s in Atlantic City, NJ. BOTH submissions are due on Wednesday, March 1st, 2017. Those selected for presentation will be notified by end of March.  Please send applications and nominations to the chair Cynthia Coulter (email preferred):
