Information Literacy Assessment Training & Scoring Session on July 22, 2014 Rutgers, Piscataway

How do we know if our students are educated users of information?  Have they learned what we are trying to teach them?

You are invited to attend a workshop where librarians will learn and apply methods for consistent scoring of students’ researched writing using an established rubric. This is a VALE/ACRL  research project called the New Jersey Cross-Institutional Assessment of Information Literacy.  This project will help academic librarians in New Jersey set uniform standards of assessment of information literacy. (See the Research Project Overview for details.)

Workshop participants will be sent guidance and sample papers at least one week prior to the meeting and will be expected to read and score 6 papers before attending.
