What is critical pedagogy and why might we want to incorporate it within library instruction? This webcast will investigate critical pedagogical approaches for library instruction with the greater goal of improving our teaching, how students feel about using the library (affect), and the image of the librarian. As we strive to make our teaching, our libraries, and our campuses as inclusive as we can, there is still a lot of work to be done. Critical library instruction, situated within critical pedagogy, examines power and privilege in the classroom and beyond. Through this webcast, participants will begin to situate this praxis for their own roles as librarian educators.

The webcast will  immediately be followed  by a live panel discussion at 3:30 p.m.
